We have plenty of options for under-sink water filters. They help make drinking water safe and healthy for your family. The taste of your water improves, but your beverages and food find a better flavor. We have one installed in our house. It works well. It only needs replacement once a year for two people using it all the time.
The DuPont WFRO60X Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filtration System uses reverse osmosis filtration, unlike the traditional water filters. Reverse osmosis (RO) is a pressure-driven separation procedure for semipermeable membranes. It follows crossflow filtration.
DuPont WFRO60X Drinking Water Filter System is certified by third parties to treat 90% of dissolved solids, pentavalent arsenic, and lead. It produces up to 13 gallons of filtered drinking water per day, lasting 12 months.

The 3-Stage Quick Twist Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System
The reverse osmosis water procedure provides an acceptable level of filtration. Reverse osmosis (RO) filters use a multistage process, including pre-filters and semipermeable membranes. An RO drinking water filter system consists of the filter, housing, and the head.
The RO membrane is a barrier to all salts, organic and inorganic molecules, with a molecular weight of over 100. It is an effective process for removing particulates such as:
Removal of Contaminants & Impurities
It is certified by Certified NSF/ANSI Standard 42 to reduce the following waterborne contaminants:
- Reduce Aesthetic Chlorine (Taste & Odor)
- Particulates
- Cysts
- Lead
- Nitrites
- Pentavalent Arsenic
- Cadmium
- Selenium
- Trivalent Chromium
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
- Endotoxins/pyrogens
- Insecticides/pesticides
- Herbicides
- Antibiotics
- Nitrates
- Sugars
- Soluble salts
- Metal ions
You can easily install DuPont Water Filter, then use it with any faucet. Here is a video guide for installation:
DuPont Water Filter Unit Information
The unit includes a 2.8-gallon tank, two 300- series carbon block filters, one reverse osmosis filter, and an auxiliary faucet. The DuPont WFRO60X Drinking Water Filter System is self-contained. You can replace filters without turning off cold water due to a built-in shut-off valve. You only have to twist off and on while replacing the cartridges.
It has a design cover with a built-in mounting bracket and push-on tube fittings to make installation easy. The filter has a quick twist change system with auto shut-off to replace cartridges without hassle. The company provides the most widely used RO technology for families wanting clean water at home.
Important Note: Please do not forget to install the black screw-like piece that goes into the drain hose into the back of the RO filter (the middle one). It’s a restrictor, and it’s necessary to install.
Also, keep in mind that the tank needs to be about 7 psi. It would help to use a digital gauge to measure when the tank is empty. It will affect the amount of water you get; make sure you have it at about 7 psi; else, you will lose water volume if it’s 8 or so.
You can always buy new filters from DuPont. A filter change can feel costly. You can also purchase standard filters that the manufacturer does not design, but consider that results may vary.
DuPont Water Filter Limitation
I recommend using DuPont Water Filter on municipal water only that is chemically treated. It is not functional for well water which may contain many harmful pollutants and bacteria that this system cannot remove.
The DuPont filter also can’t remove or reduce ions in water, causing limescale, like calcium and magnesium. Like 99.9% of faucet water filters on the market, this faucet water filter is designed solely to improve water taste, appearance, and odor.
Downsides of DuPont water filter
I used it for over a year. I installed it easily, and the water quality is fine. Besides, like most other water filters on the market, this product has a few downsides.
The filter is costly if we see the usage. It doesn’t have a high capacity. There isn’t much water left for drinking if we use it for cooking at the same time. It takes a few hours to recharge. When the filter needs maintenance, it pushes the water out of a faucet keyhole. It flooded our countertop several times, creating a mess. You can use this filter if your drinking water consumption is low or limited to 2 people.
The DuPont Water Filter reduces water flow noticeably. But not to the extent of annoying the user. Water flow is slowed down as your tap water takes its time to pass through the filter, which removes its pollutants. Even so, it should still take you less than 10 seconds to fill a glass of water.
